Elastic Cords Resistance Type Reformers Elastic cords are sometimes used in place of metal springs as the means of creating resistance beneath the reformer's carriage. These are more cost-effective than coiled springs, but will show wear after prolonged use. The carriage resistance of any of these reformers can be adjusted by simply removing or adding the number of cords in use.
